We would like to use this club to bring the Tri-Valley brewers together
since there is no official club in the area. We hope we can get
long-time brewers and novices into the club so we can all share
our experiences and knowledge and help new brewers to really accelerate
their learning in a friendly setting. Then we can start bringing
home the Gold in the local brewing competitions next summer.
Well that’s it. I hope you find this entertaining and I look
forward to seeing you at the next meeting.

The first meeting of the Valley Brewing Club met September 17th,
2005 at the Hopyard in Pleasanton. We met for about two hours and
enjoyed the brewing expertise of Dave from the Hoptown Brewery next
door.
We had no grand agenda, but to meet each other and decide on some
general issues. We have agreed:
1) That we will meet every other month.
2) Each meeting we will focus on a certain style of beer. We will
all brew a batch according to the “style”, when we meet
we will talk about the various beers.
3) We would like to invite “Brewing Professionals”
speakers to our meetings.
The Valley Brew Club had its third meeting in January. Attendance
continues to rise at the meetings. A great time was had by one and
all. Many interesting beer related topics were discussed and a few
beers were sampled, including a "bad" beer....so now we
know what bad yeast will do to beer!
The next meeting of the Valley Brew Club will held at The Good
Brewer on Tuesday March 14 at 6:30. We are trying to schedule a
guest speaker for the event...stay tuned. If you would like to come
to the meeting, please RSVP to: Daniel@goodbrewer.com
Brief notes from the January meeting:
•Two members brought keg-to-bottle fillers they had built;
with and without a pressure relief valve.
•Tasting with about a dozen beers being sampled including:
a Belgian Saison, Disaster Ale (So named for all the problems in
processing), a DaM Wicked Ale, an IPA, Porter, an Oktoberfest, a
fabulously hoppy IPA, and a Stout.
Well that’s it. I hope you find this entertaining and I look
forward to seeing you at the March meeting.
